Intercession: Fighting Battles From Afar

For the past nine months, our plans for Lebanon have remained uncertain. Political unrest, shifting safety concerns, and doors that once seemed open have caused our team to take a pause. And yet—through every delay, every Plan B, every moment of not knowing—we have never stopped praying.

Lebanon, and especially the Syrian refugees within its borders, have been heavy on our hearts. While we’ve remained flexible with alternative plans in places like Zambia, our long-term calling toward Lebanon remains unchanged. Whether we go now or later, one thing is certain: our intercession is not bound by geography.

Intercession is powerful beyond our comprehension.
It allows us to fight a spiritual battle thousands of miles away. We don’t need a plane ticket or a visa to lift up a nation before the throne of God. Prayer is action. When we intercede, we ask God to move in ways we never could on our own—and He listens.

The Bible is clear about the power and purpose of intercession. In 1 Timothy 2:1, Paul urges believers to make "petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving...for all people," showing that interceding for others is a central part of our calling. In Isaiah 59:15–16, God is grieved when no one steps in to seek justice or intervene on behalf of the hurting—revealing His deep desire for people who will stand in the gap. Galatians 6:2 reminds us that when we carry one another’s burdens, we fulfill the law of Christ. And in James 5:16, we are told that "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." These verses together show that intercession is not only a privilege—it is a responsibility and a powerful tool God uses to bring healing, justice, and transformation.

We believe this is a crucial time to gather in prayer, and we invite you to join us in interceding for Lebanon. Here are a few ways you can pray:

  • Pray for peace and stability in the Middle East, especially in areas where political conflict affects the ability to do ministry.

  • Pray for the Syrian refugee community, for hope, healing, and access to resources and support.

  • Pray for open doors for our team to serve, whether now or in the future.

  • Pray for the Church in Lebanon to be a bold, compassionate presence that reflects Christ’s love in a difficult season.

  • Pray for discernment and strength for our team as we continue preparing, waiting, and trusting.

Let’s stand in the gap. Let’s believe that prayer can move mountains, heal trauma, and restore communities. Intercession may be invisible, but its impact is eternal.

Thank you for praying with us.
